The ideal candidate will be a student-centered advocate committed to supporting our students' academic, career, and social-emotional development. Key Responsibilities Academic Advising: Assist students with course selection, graduation requirements, and personalized education plans. College & Career Readiness: Guide post-secondary options, including college applications, scholarships, FAFSA completion, and vocational training. Social-Emotional Support: Offer individual and small-group counseling to address personal, social, or mental health concerns impacting student success. Crisis Intervention: Respond to immediate student needs and collaborate with external agencies when necessary. Testing Coordination: Assist in the administration and interpretation of state assessments (ACT, Pre-ACT, etc.). Collaboration: Act as a liaison between students, parents, teachers, and administration to ensure a holistic support system. Skills: Strong communication, time-management, and proficiency with student information systems (e.g., Wengage/Sylogist). Attributes: High level of integrity, confidentiality, and a genuine passion for working with teenagers. Required Qualifications Certification: Valid Oklahoma School Counselor Certificate (Secondary). Education: Master's Degree in School Counseling or a related field. Preferred Qualifications Skills: Strong communication, time-management, and proficiency with student information systems (e.g., Infinite Campus).
