This role offers strong mentorship, a diverse caseload, and hands-on experience in a high-need urban school setting. Position Overview
Full-time, Monday-Friday (35-40 hours/week)
Onsite role serving PreK-12 students across assigned schools
CF supervision provided by a licensed SLP
Full school-year contract with potential for renewal
Caseload Details
Average caseload: 40-60 students (varies by building assignment)
Students with a wide range of mild to moderate communication needs
Areas of service include:
Articulation & phonological disorders
Receptive/expressive language delays
Social/pragmatic communication needs
Fluency and voice disorders
Likely exposure to:
Autism spectrum disorders
AAC/assistive technology users
Multilingual/English learner populations
Responsibilities:
Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations
Develop and implement IEP goals
Provide direct therapy (individual and small group)
Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers
Maintain accurate documentation and compliance
Connecticut State Requirements (SLP-CF)
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
Eligibility for the Connecticut Initial Educator Certificate (Speech-Language Pathologist) through the Connecticut State Department of Education
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship under a licensed SLP
Licensure through the Connecticut Department of Public Health
Passing the Praxis exam typically required for full certification/licensure
Completion of required background checks (fingerprinting and school clearance process)
