Step into a rewarding school-based contract opportunity for Speech-Language Pathologists this fall. Three full-time positions are available to cover upcoming maternity leaves in a well-respected district near Edison, NJ. These assignments are set to begin in September 2026 and will last approximately 12 weeks, with a commitment of 35+ hours per week, onsite only.
Each role emphasizes supporting elementary-aged children, with a focus on classrooms serving students with autism as well as a broad preschool through grade five population. Locations include dedicated elementary buildings in Sewaren and Iselin, with a third placement to be determined within the district.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active NJ Speech-Language Pathologist License
- Current NJ Speech-Language Specialist (SLS) Certification
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) is strongly preferred
- Clinical fellows are welcome to apply; please note external supervision is required as the district does not provide supervision onsite
- Prior school-based or pediatric experience is ideal, particularly with students on the autism spectrum
- Familiarity with IEP documentation and pediatric assessment tools
- SLPAs are not eligible for this assignment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy to students in individual and group settings
- Conduct evaluations and ongoing assessments for students referred or with IEPs
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, and families
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and therapy goals
- Maintain thorough documentation for student progress and compliance
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to developing appropriate educational strategies
