Sunbelt Staffing has an opening for a school-based Occupational Therapist on a part-time contract assignment with a district in Trenton, Michigan. This position is for the 20262027 school year and will run from September 2026 through June 2027. The Occupational Therapist will provide services across only four school sites within the district while supporting students with a variety of educational and developmental needs.

This role is ideal for an experienced OT seeking a consistent, low-hour schedule with the opportunity to build strong relationships throughout a supportive district. The selected clinician will serve as the districts primary Occupational Therapist and collaborate closely with educational staff and families to support student success.

Responsibilities

Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in a school-based setting
Conduct evaluations, assessments, and progress monitoring
Develop and implement therapy goals within IEPs
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary collaboration
Maintain accurate documentation and service records
Consult with teachers, staff, and families regarding student supports and accommodations

Qualifications

Active Michigan Occupational Therapist license required
Previous school-based experience preferred
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage services across multiple school sites

Experience

Prior pediatric or school-based Occupational Therapy experience preferred
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary educational teams is a plus

Education

Masters or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

Work Hours

14 hours per week
September 2026 June 2027 school year schedule
