The mission of One Bright Ray Community High School, an independent, accelerated high school, is to provide quality education to Philadelphias learners in search of a positive school experience while earning their diploma. We provide a supportive environment free of negative labels that challenge each student to explore his or her personal and academic potential. We are a second chance for our adults in their pursuit of a high school diploma.
Pay: $50/hr
Schedule: Monday-Thursday Evenings, 4:35pm-8:35pm
Location: Simpson Evening Campus - 1142 E Erie Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19124
Qualifications: Masters Degree, PA Principal PK-12 Certification

Responsibilities:
- Identify professional development needs and develop professional development plans for teaching and non-teaching staff
- Review lesson plans, provide written feedback to teachers, and coach teachers around standards-based planning
- Coordinate with the Assistant Director on climate and culture initiatives for the campus
- Support staff as they plan and deliver new student orientation and returning-student orientation
- Ensure that all school stakeholders are able to articulate a clear and shared vision for learning
- Promote high-quality instructional practices that consistently allow for excellent instruction school-wide
- Be a visible and consistent presence throughout the school
- Develop systems and a school culture that promotes peer feedback, support, and collaboration
- Collect, analyze, and use multiple sources of data to guide continuous improvement in student achievement, student and staff well-being, and professional development for staff
- Ability to motivate staff and students around a shared vision for success
- Clear and effective communication skills for diverse audiences including students, staff, and community partners
- Passion for developing staffs instructional and leadership capacities
- Persistence in the face of obstacles, productive problem-solving to counter setbacks, initiative to seize opportunities to make change
- Belief in student empowerment and willingness to allow students to play an active role in supporting the schools vision
- Ability to reflect on how to improve, self-awareness of strengths and weaknesses
- Clear understanding of policies and law affecting special populations, LEP students and students receiving special education services
- Ability to model an exemplary work ethic
- A strong social justice alignment and a desire to engage in anti-racism work
