The Opportunity: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled School Counselor to join our team. This role is ideal for a mental health professional or a school counselor with a strong background in special education who is passionate about supporting students who experience social, emotional, and learning-related challenges. You will play a vital role in creating a positive and inclusive school climate, delivering essential counseling services, and collaborating with students, families, and staff to promote holistic student development. What You Will Do: Provide supportive and affirming individual and group counseling services to K-12 neurodivergent students with special needs, addressing academic, personal, and social-emotional concerns. Develop and collaborate on the curriculum development and instruction of school-wide social-emotional learning lessons Provide push-in classroom support to students in their social development and self-regulation. Offer crisis intervention and emergency response services as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff. Engage in continued rapport and relationship building with students, staff, and the school community Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and school personnel to develop and implement effective intervention strategies and positive behavior supports. Participate in student Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), including meeting participation, goal development, and engagement in interventions. Conduct assessments to Requirements / Qualifications Master's Degree in School Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field.
