Job Summary / Basic Function
At PennWest University, we're transforming the way students experience the college search, and we're looking for a dynamic, relationship-driven professional to join our team as an Assistant Director of Admissions.
In this role, you'll guide, advocate for, and inspire students as they take one of the most important steps in their lives. From the first conversation to the moment they enroll, you'll play a key role in shaping their future, and the future of PennWest.
Drive Recruitment and Territory Strategy
Manage a dedicated recruitment territory, building and executing a strategic travel and outreach plan .
Represent PennWest at high schools, college fairs, and community events (in-state and out-of-state) .
Analyze application and enrollment trends to refine strategies and improve results.
Serve as a trusted resource on PennWest's academic programs, student experience, and opportunities.
Evaluate and Support Applicants
Review applications and supporting documents, making admissions decisions using professional judgment
Manage a cohort of applicants from inquiry through decision.
Identify pathways and solutions that support student success and institutional goals.
Build Meaningful Relationships
Develop strong partnerships with school counselors, students, families, and community organizations.
Use CRM tools (Slate) to track engagement and personalize communication.
Contribute to messaging and outreach for parents, influencers, and school counselors.
Collaborate across campus to connect students with academic programs and support services.
Create Memorable Experiences
Plan and execute on-campus and off-campus events, including visit programs and yield initiatives.
Lead information sessions and meet one-on-one with prospective students and families.
Support a welcoming, high-energy campus visit experience.
This role is exciting because you directly influence enrollment outcomes and student success, own your territory while contributing to larger recruitment initiatives, and build lasting connections with students, families, and partners.
Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Experience planning, coordinating, or supporting events, or transferable skills that show the ability to organize logistics, manage details, and work with campus or community partners
Ability to balance competing priorities
Ability to work independently
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
Minimum of Education / TrainingRequired Education Summary
Bachelor's Degree
Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
Prior admissions or enrollment management experience
Physical Demands
Ability to lift, transport, and move recruitment supplies, often weighing between 25 and 50 pounds.
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during events.
Work Location Edinboro Campus
Is travel to other PennWest campuses required for this position? If so, how often?
Yes, occasional travel, approximately five times per year.
Work Hours 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, Some weekends and evenings required
