Job Description
The Director of Technology reports directly to the Head of School. The Director portion of the role is approximately 50% during the school year, with reduced Director hours during the summer months. The position may be paired with teaching responsibilities to create a full=time role, or the Director role may remain part-time depending on the candidate and school needs.
Responsibilities include the following:
Work with administration and oversee other I.T. staff to purchase, install, maintain, and upgrade (as needed) the
information technology necessary to fulfill the school's mission, including, but not limited to:
Central network
3 tech closets
10 Ubiquiti switches
Internet connection (currently provided by Charter)
Central network server (Windows)
Campus-wide high speed WiFi system (approximately 35 Meraki Wireless Access Points)
Windows desktop computers for teachers and administrative assistants (approximately 75)
Tablet computers for lower elementary students (Approximately 80 iPads)
Chromebooks for elementary students (Approximately 160 Chromebooks)
Interactive White Board Projectors in all classrooms (approximately 50 Epson projectors)
VOIP Phone system (approximately 45 phones)
School-wide Google Workspace for Education
Approximately 130 staff accounts
Approximately 500 student accounts
Lenel Key Fob keyless entry system (approximately 10 readers, 130 key fobs)
Security Camera System (approximately 55 cameras)
Rave Panic Button App Administration
School wide educational licenses for:
Adobe
Canva
AutoDesk
Fax system (currently two eFax accounts)
Work with Business Office to support printing, copying, and scanning on 5 copiers
Provide support for Middle School and High School Bring Your Own Device policy
Publish minimum requirements
Maintain a loaner laptop system for students who need devices (approximately 16 Chromebooks in Middle School,
16 Chromebooks in High School)
Develop and implement measures to keep school safe from cybersecurity threats
Develop and implement measures to keep school data secure
Chair a Technology Committee composed of elementary, middle, and high school teachers to
develop policies and procedures related to technology use in school
research and bring technology recommendations to administrators and/or the board
Submit and follow an annual technology budget (approximately $100,000)
Provide training to staff and students as needed
