Seeking one (1) full-time Middle School Counselor or School Social Worker for the 2026-2027 school year. This is full-time position with benefits. The Chino Valley Unified School District is on a 4-day work week Monday through Thursday.
Salary below includes $3,500 from Classroom Site Fund.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Guidance Counselors/School Social Worker to provide a comprehensive program which meets the needs of their assigned students. Counselors promote and enhance academic, personal, social, and career development of all students.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instructs students in the Character Strong Program.
Counsels and serves as a resource person for parents on concerns relative to their student.
Identifies and verifies data for identifying students in at risk.
Provides individual and/or support groups to meet the remedial needs of students concerning divorce, incarceration, substance abuse, etc.
Provide and support prevention programs including violence prevention, conflict resolution, anti-bullying strategies, peer mediation, and character education.
Follow up individual and group counseling to monitor student progress.
Identify cultural, ethnic, financial, physical and emotional challenges which might be negatively impacting students' success and provide support to mitigate barriers.
Adhere to and support board policy, school guidelines, administrative rules and directives.
Advocate on behalf of the student and/or his/her family. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students.
Submit required reports promptly and accurately.
Communicates effectively with students, professional staff, parents and community in a positive manner.
Consults with school administrator, faculty and other personnel.
Works cooperatively with the staff to provide information concerning student needs.
Conferences with students, teachers, parents, and other relevant individuals concerning grades and works together for improvement.
Provide school-to-career guidance activities using all resources available.
Uses computer to access data regarding schedules, assessment/achievement, transcripts, demographics, and family.
Maintain qualification of the grant.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Must have or be able to obtain a valid Arizona Counselor Certificate or School Social Worker Certificate.
Must have or be able to obtain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Card.
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, not required.
Knowledge of children's mental health and behavioral issues.
Understand classroom and pedagogical concerns.
Have experience in consulting with parents, teachers, school administrators and others to conduct assessments and make recommendations.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors or Masters degree or higher from an accredited college or university preferred.
