Job Description

Secondary School Assistant Principal/Athletic Director This position is a permanent full-time ten (10) month (206 days) position available as soon as possible.

Crawford Central School District, located in Meadville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania is seeking an inspiring, visionary leader able to encourage excellence in all aspects of an elementary educational program.

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Pennsylvania Administrative Certificate (Principal K-12 or equivalent).

Minimum of three (3) years of successful classroom teaching

Prior leadership experience in an instructional or administrative role

Demonstrated knowledge of instructional practices, student development, school operations, and student support

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with administrators, staff, students, families, and community members.

Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology and data

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

JOB GOAL

To assist the Principal in providing instructional, cultural, and operational leadership for the school by supporting teaching and learning, fostering a positive and safe school climate, and ensuring effective implementation of school policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with district goals.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Instructional and Student Support Leadership

Assists in the supervision and evaluation of instructional staff to support high-quality teaching

Conducts classroom observations, walkthroughs, and provides feedback under the direction of the

Supports the implementation of curriculum, assessment, and instructional initiatives aligned with Pennsylvania Academic

Uses student performance data to support instructional improvement and targeted interventions.

Assists with the coordination and monitoring of special education services, Section 504 plans, gifted education, MTSS, and IEP

Collaborates with guidance, intervention, and student support staff to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional

School Climate and Student Management

Assists in maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive school

Supports the administration of student discipline in a fair, consistent, developmentally appropriate, and legally compliant

Participates in student behavior planning, attendance monitoring, and family

Supports implementation of positive behavior systems and school-wide

Operational and Systems Leadership

Assists with the implementation and enforcement of Board policies, administrative regulations, and school

Supports daily school operations, including supervision of arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, hallways, and extracurricular activities as

Assists in emergency preparedness, safety drills, and crisis

Supports accurate student record-keeping and reporting

Assists with scheduling, testing coordination, substitute coverage, and supervision plans as

Exercises authority as provided by law and Board policy, including enforcement of school rules and

Professional and Community Leadership

Communicates effectively with students, families, staff, and community

Assists in promoting positive school-community

Participates in staff meetings, professional learning activities, and school improvement efforts.

Represents the school at events, activities, and meetings as assigned by the

Participates in ongoing professional learning to strengthen knowledge and skills in student support, positive behavior practices, effective instructional strategies, data- informed decision-making, and fostering a safe and supportive school

Other Responsibilities

Performs other reasonable duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent in support of school operations and student

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be determined in accordance with the Administrative Compensation Plan established between the Act 93 Group and the Crawford Central Board of School Directors.

EVALUATION

Performance shall be evaluated annually in accordance with Board policy.

ATHLETIC DIRECTOR

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree (required); Master's degree

Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate and administrative certificate

Prior coaching or athletic administration

Knowledge of PIAA rules and interscholastic

Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

JOB GOAL: The Athletic Director provides leadership, oversight, and coordination of the K-12 interscholastic athletic program to ensure safe, equitable, and developmentally appropriate opportunities for student-athletes. The position promotes sportsmanship, academic achievement, and compliance with district, state, and league regulations while supporting the district's educational mission.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan, organize, and supervise all K-12 interscholastic athletic

Develop and implement a comprehensive athletic program aligned with district goals and

Establish consistent procedures and expectations across all grade

Serve as the primary liaison between the district, athletic leagues, and state athletic

Ensure compliance with all applicable Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) rules, league regulations, and district

Monitor eligibility, physicals, and required documentation for student-athletes.

Approve all recommendations for athletic awards and verifies rosters for letter awards.

Oversee safety protocols, concussion management, and emergency action

Investigate and address athletic-related complaints, incidents, or

Recruit, recommend, supervise, and evaluate

Ensure coaches meet certification, background clearance, and professional development

Provide guidance and support to coaches regarding expectations, ethics, and student

Develop and manage the athletic department

Oversee purchasing, inventory, and maintenance of athletic equipment and uniforms.

Coordinate facility usage, scheduling, and maintenance with district administration and building

Coordinate game schedules, transportation, officials, and facility

Ensure proper supervision at practices, games, and

Oversee ticketing, event staffing, and game management

Assist in revisions to Athletic Handbook and review handbook with coaches, assistant coaches, and volunteers prior to each

Promote positive sportsmanship, character development, and academic responsibility among student-athletes.

Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, staff, and community members.

Address concerns in a timely, professional, and equitable

Represent the district at athletic meetings, events, and public

Evening, weekend, and holiday hours
