Position Summary

This position plays a vital role in helping students successfully navigate high school with a clear plan for what comes next. The coordinator will support students as they explore college, career, military, trade, and workforce opportunities while also serving as a trusted adult who helps students stay organized, connected, and future focused.

Primary Responsibilities

College & Career Readiness Leadership

Lead postsecondary planning efforts for high school students

Help students develop realistic and meaningful plans for life after graduation

Coordinate communication regarding college applications, scholarships, FAFSA, and career opportunities

Build strong partnerships with organizations such as Hawkeye Community College and the Waterloo Career Center

Coordinate dual enrollment and career center programming

Ensure students are scheduled, supported, and successful within these opportunities

Academic Planning & Testing Coordination

Coordinate assessments including ACT, Accuplacer, and AP testing

Assist students with course planning aligned to future goals

Collaborate with administration and staff regarding scheduling and pathway development

Monitor graduation requirements and student progress

Student Support & Academic Monitoring

Monitor student progress toward graduation and postsecondary readiness

Help identify students who may need additional support

Collaborate with MTSS and student support teams

Provide short term, school based support related to organization, goal setting, and problem solving

K-12 Student Development Opportunities

Bosco Catholic School System values a Preschool through Grade 12 approach to student formation and readiness. As this role develops, there may be opportunities to collaborate with K-8 staff and support systems to strengthen schoolwide student development, transitions, leadership opportunities, and long term college and career readiness.
