Primary Purpose:

To lead students in their personal academic goals to successfully navigate both high school and college systems at the same time.

Qualifications: Education/Certification:

  • Bachelors' Degree

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and technology skills
  • Interpret data and communicate effectively with both students and parents
  • Understanding of the college acceptance and CCMR processes
  • Such alternatives to these qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable

Experience:

  • Experience preferred in working with parents and students in an educational setting

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist students with choosing dual credit courses that meet high school requirements and college degree pathways
  • Knowledgeable of current graduation requirements
  • Ensures coursework aligns with students' career and post-secondary goals
  • Maintain current knowledge of college procedures and updates
  • Facilitate dual credit programs that help students and parents and navigate the college entrance requirements, required exams and enrollment process
  • Guide students toward transferable college credit courses
  • Monitors and supports student success in courses and eligibility in dual credit courses
  • Serve as the liaison between high school, college, counselors and parents
  • Coordinate course offerings, schedules and program requirements
  • Educates students about the rigor and time management required for dual credit coursework
  • Assists with planning and facilitating dual credit evening events throughout the year
  • Perform such other duties as the superintendent may assign

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals.

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel; occasional statewide travel and out-of-state travel

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress

Salary: Pay Grade PG01, $335.27 - $397.64 daily rate, commensurate with experience according to District salary schedule.
