Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
- Current Occupational Therapy license valid for New York state
- Experience in a K12 school environment preferred
- Strong understanding of IEPs and related documentation
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques for diverse student needs and abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized therapy plans for students
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services in accordance with students IEPs
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to optimize student participation and progress
- Document therapy sessions, maintain records, and report on student outcomes in compliance with school policies
- Offer guidance on adaptive equipment and classroom modifications to support accessibility
- Attend IEP meetings and contribute to the educational planning process
- Deliver consultative services to teachers and staff as needed
