Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Occupational Therapy license for the state of New York
• Experience working with children or adolescents, preferably within a school environment
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals
• Ability to develop and implement individualized and group therapy plans
• Familiarity with IEPs and the unique needs of diverse student populations
• Compassionate, patient, and adaptable in dynamic educational settings

Responsibilities:

• Assess students to determine their functional abilities and needs within the school environment
• Design and implement therapeutic interventions that support educational goals
• Participate in IEP meetings, contributing valuable insights for individualized plans
• Document progress and adjust interventions as necessary to maximize student success
• Educate teachers and support staff on strategies that facilitate inclusion and independence
• Provide guidance to families to encourage skill development at home
