Job Description Summary

Exalt Academy is seeking a collaborative, reflective, and data-driven ELA/Science Academic Coach (K-2) to support high-impact instruction and teacher development. The Academic Coach will drive student achievement by guiding the implementation of Exalt's Academic Model and Eight Element Design, with a strong foundation in Explicit Instruction, Meeting Students Where They Are, and Urgency (EMUs). This position involves instructional modeling, coaching, data analysis, and leading Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to ensure all students receive effective Tier 1 instruction and targeted Tier 2 and Tier 3 support.

Qualified Candidates Must:

Lead structured, data-driven PLCs that focus on standards, curriculum pacing, and instructional planning

Provide coaching cycles and weekly feedback through classroom observations

Demonstrate and model high-impact instructional strategies in real-time classroom settings

Analyze student data to drive Tier 1 instruction and inform Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions

Guide teachers in Professional Growth Plans (PGPs) and goal setting

Plan and support academic events and field trips aligned to instructional goals

Duties Include:

Facilitate and support weekly PLCs aligned to pacing guides, assessments, and student data

Provide instructional coaching, including modeling lessons and leading reflection sessions

Guide teachers in lesson planning, instructional delivery, and classroom management

Support the implementation of the MTSS process and ensure students are receiving appropriate supports

Participate in hiring, onboarding, and supporting new staff

Plan and coordinate academic field trips and events in collaboration with school leaders

Lead data collection, analysis, and presentation during PLCs and leadership meetings

Monitor teacher progress toward professional goals and adjust coaching accordingly

Education & Certification Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred

Valid teaching certification required; coaching or leadership experience preferred

3+ years of classroom teaching experience with demonstrated student growth

Technical Skills:

Strong ability to use student data to inform instruction and interventions

Familiarity with formative and summative assessment tools

Proficiency in instructional platforms and digital data tools

Employment Structure:

Reports to the Assistant Superintendent of Leadership and Talent Development

Collaborates with the Principal, Vice Principal, and Chief Academic Officer

Be open to frequent coaching, observation, and instructional modeling

Duties:

Be well prepared to deliver high-quality, engaging instruction with urgency.

Attend all mandated orientations, training sessions, and professional development programs.

Provide high-quality instruction for the assigned grade level throughout the school year.

Collaborate with parents through discussions and planning to support student learning and growth.

Engage in school initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and the advancement of the school's mission.

Carry out assigned teaching and/or managerial responsibilities.

Education Requirements:

Appropriate Arkansas licensure and certification are preferred, not required.

3+ Years Classroom Teaching Experience

A bachelor's Degree is required.

Teaching certification is preferred, not required

RISE Certified

Amplify Experience, preferred

Technical Skills:

Adequate in using technology in education.

Skilled in analyzing student data to enhance instruction and improve programs.

Some familiarity with instructional technology equipment, software, hardware, and networked systems is preferable.
