West Bath School Administrative Unit
The West Bath School Administrative Unit is seeking a skilled and compassionate school psychologist to be based at the West Bath School, in support of the public preschool - grade 12 West Bath students, as an integral part of our special education team. Candidates must hold or be eligible to hold Maine DOE certification 093 and have a valid Criminal History Record Check (CHRC).
The goals of this position include:
- Conducting formal psychological evaluations, assessments, and screenings, and communicating findings consistent with the special education process for children in preschool through grade 12
- Supporting the MTSS process and utilizing assessment to promote academic success, emotional well-being, and positive social development among students
- Consulting with teachers, families, and other school professionals to improve support strategies, practices and policies and to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborating with community providers to coordinate needed services
- Attending IEP meetings and acting as the administrative designee for all West Bath students in preschool and in grades 6-12, including those attending special purpose private schools and residential programs and/or who are educated out of district
The desired candidate must have a strong knowledge of special education law, excellent collaboration and communication skills, and the desire to develop, support, and maintain appropriate special services programs for all West Bath students in accordance with the mission, vision, and beliefs of the school district.
