2026-2027 Instructional Specialist for Anna McDonald School
Valid IL Professional Educator License required with a Minimum of five (5) years of successful classroom teaching experience
Performance Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in the implementation of district-approved curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices
- Develop and maintain a confidential and collegial relationship/partnership with all staff to promote student learning
- Analyze student performance data to inform instruction, guide interventions, and identify areas of need
- Initiate strategic conversations with teachers that are student-learning focused
- Support teachers in developing and implementing individualized instruction for all students
- Collaborate with building and district leadership to develop and deliver effective, research-based professional development for certified staff
- Model best instructional practices in classrooms, including co-teaching, demonstration lessons, and coaching cycles
- Collaborate with teachers to create a culture of rigor, inquiry, and reflection through professional learning communities
- Assist in curriculum alignment, unit planning, and the integration of standards across content areas
- Work with teams of teachers to unpack curricular units, the standards, reflect on student learning evidence, and make effective instructional decisions to support all learners
- Support implementation of MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support), including academic and behavioral interventions
- Facilitate professional learning communities (PLCs) and assist teams in using data to improve student achievement
- Provide guidance and training on instructional technology and tools used to enhance learning.
- Stay current on educational research, trends, and instructional innovations and share findings with staff
- Participate in the selection and evaluation of instructional materials and assessments
- Serve as a liaison between teachers and district leadership to ensure alignment and support
- Keep abreast of current research and development in the fields of curriculum and instruction
- Assumes responsibility for other duties as may be assigned by t he director of curriculum & instruction or the building principal
