This position provides program leadership to ensure high-quality services for students with disabilities while maintaining compliance with state, federal, and SELPA requirements. The ideal candidate is student-centered, skilled in special education law and MTSS practices, and comfortable with district-level leadership responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Director of Special Education - 40% FTE, 215 Workdays, Certificated Administrative Salary Schedule Serve as the district's SELPA-required Local Educational Agency (LEA) Representative. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and SELPA regulations governing special education. Lead and oversee the development, implementation, and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Supervise and support special education services, including RSP and related services. Collaborate with the Principal on budgeting, staffing, and program development. Provide professional development and coaching to staff on special education law, MTSS, and interventions. Support data collection and reporting for SARC, LCAP, and other accountability measures. Represent the district at SELPA meetings and training as required.
