Help

On a continuing basis, ensures assigned organizions are properly and adequely organized, staffed and equipped; establishes and conducts adeque training programs; maintains record keeping systems; and facilities and ensures procedures meet all regulory requirements.

Chairs joint Federal Aviion Administrion (FAA) and industry meetings. Maintains regular contact with organizions assigned and coordines with top management officials. Requires or directs correction of any deficiencies/discrepancies and refuses or withdraws approval if they cannot be resolved.

Develops maintenance program requirements through participion on maintenance review boards. Coordines minimum equipment list (MEL) approvals with the principal operions inspector. Takes enforcement action in instances of noncompliance with the MEL.

Provides guidance to the assigned air carrier in the development of required maintenance manuals and record keeping systems. Reviews and determines adequacy of manuals associed with the air carriers airworthiness programs and revisions. Ensures manuals and revisions comply with regulory requirements, prescribe safe practices, and furnish clear and specific instructions governing airworthiness programs. Approves operions specificions and amendments.

Determines if the maintenance facilities being established or contract arrangements entered into by air carrier for the purpose of overhaul work, major repairs, alterions, and other maintenance are sisfactory. Reviews changes and negoties with air carrier management to resolve problems.

Directs the inspection and surveillance of the air carriers continuous airworthiness program. Monitors all phases of the air carriers airworthiness operion, including the maintenance, engineering, quality control, production control, training, and reliability programs.

Analyzes trends to detect deteriorion in the airworthiness program. Analyzes reports submitted by the air carrier to ensure compliance with airworthiness program and ensures the air carrier has an effective continuing analysis and surveillance program to meet the requirements of 14 CFR.

Not more than two separe incidents involving Federal Aviion regulions violions in the last 5 years

Valid Ste driver's license

Fluency in the English language

High School diploma or equivalent.

Medical Requirements for All Positions:

Applicants must be physically able to perform the duties of the Aviion Safety Inspector position in a safe and efficient manner, with or without a reasonable accommodion.The minimum medical requirements include the following requirements:

Have good distant vision in each eye and be able to read, without strain, printed merials the size of typewritten characters (glasses and contact lenses permitted);

Have the ability to hear the conversional voice (hearing aid permitted); and

Not have any physical condition th would cause them to be a hazard to themselves or others th would interfere with their ability to fly as passengers in a variety of aircraft.

In addition, applicants for positions th require participion in the operion of the aircraft must:

Possess a valid second class medical certifice in accordance with FAA regulions; and

Pass recurrent medical examinions as prescribed by the FAA.

Applicants not requiring valid second-class medical certifices who are tentively selected required to:

Provide documention from a board-certified physician certifying th they meet the minimal medical requirements; or

Individuals who do not meet the minimum medical requirements but who are otherwise qualified will receive an individualized assessment to determine whether they can perform the essential functions of the position.

When the predominant work involves air carrier maintenance , applicants for Aviion Safety Inspector (Air Carrier) positions must meet all of the following requirements.

Aircraft experience involving the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of installed avionics systems on aircraft.

Maintenance experience on aircraft of more than 12,500 pounds maximum certificed takeoff weight.

Aircraft maintenance work experience (which could include supervision or auditing) in a repair stion; air carrier repair facility; military repair facility; or local, ste, or Federal governmental agency within the last 3 years.

Aircraft maintenance work experience within the last three years.

FAA Mechanic certifice with airframe and powerplant rings.

To qualify for this position you must demonstre in your applicion th you possess least one year of experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13 grade level as an Aviion Safety Inspector. Specialized experience is experience th has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is:

Monitoring activities of organizions to determine whether they are following authorized programs and evaluing proposals to change programs.

Planning and conducting inspections and surveillance of assigned areas of carrier maintenance operions to assure compliance with Federal aviion regulions.

Principal contact with, and having responsibility for the certificion, inspection, and surveillance of the maintenance operions of a group of aviion organizions.
