Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled School Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about student development and dedicated to providing comprehensive support services that promote student well-being, academic success, and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
  • Counseling Services : Provide individual and group counseling services to address the emotional, social, and academic needs of students.
  • Crisis Intervention : Respond to student crises and provide immediate counseling and follow-up services as necessary.
  • Academic Guidance : Assist students in developing academic plans and goals, and support their efforts to achieve them.
  • Career Planning : Help students understand their skills and interests, and guide them in exploring career paths and post-secondary options.
  • Parent and Teacher Consultation : Serve as a resource for parents and teachers, offering strategies to support students' learning and development at home and in school.
  • Program Development : Develop and implement comprehensive counseling programs that address the needs of the student population.
  • Professional Development : Stay current with developments in the field of school counseling and integrate new practices as appropriate.
Qualifications
  • Education : Masters degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field; valid New Mexico school counselor license.
  • Experience : Prior experience in school counseling preferred. Experience with crisis intervention, academic advising, and career counseling is highly desirable.
  • Skills : Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff. Compassionate and empathetic approach to counseling.
