    Employment Status: Regular/Full-time (260)
    Status: Administrator

    Job Summary:

    The High School Principal serves as the educational leader and chief administrator of the high school. This position is responsible for implementing and managing school policies, programs, curriculum, and resources to ensure a safe, inclusive, and high-performing academic environment. The principal leads a team of educators and staff, supports student development, and fosters a strong relationship with parents and the community.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Leadership & School Management

    • Provide strategic vision and leadership for all academic and operational aspects of the high school.
    • Supervise and evaluate all certified and classified staff in accordance with district policy.
    • Create a positive school climate that supports student learning and staff collaboration.
    • Develop and implement the school improvement plan in alignment with district and state goals.
    • Lead and support professional development initiatives for teachers and staff.

    Academic Excellence

    • Ensure the implementation of rigorous and standards-based curricula.
    • Monitor instructional practices and provide feedback to improve teaching effectiveness.
    • Use data-driven decision-making to assess student achievement and school performance.
    • Promote access to high-quality education for all students.

    Student Support & Discipline

    • Develop and enforce consistent policies for student conduct, attendance, and discipline.
    • Foster a safe environment that fosters student social and emotional well-being.
    • Oversee special education, English Language Learner (ELL), and gifted programs in accordance with federal and state mandates.

    Community & Parent Engagement

    • Serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate for the school within the community.
    • Maintain open communication with parents, staff, students, and community stakeholders.
    • Coordinate with parent organizations and support community partnerships to enhance educational opportunities.

    Administrative & Operational Duties

    • Manage the school budget and allocate resources effectively.
    • Oversee scheduling, facility maintenance, transportation coordination, and safety procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district policies and regulations.
    • Collaborate with various departments to ensure student success.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent

    Qualifications:

    Education & Certification:

    • Master's degree or higher in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field.
    • Valid state certification/license for school administration (e.g., Principal Certificate).
    • A minimum of 5 years of classroom experience preferred.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership or administrative role within a school setting.
    • Demonstrated success in managing diverse teams and improving student outcomes.

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficient in educational technology and data analysis tools.
    • Deep understanding of curriculum development, instructional practices, and educational policy.
    • Commitment to student success for all students.

    Working Conditions:

    • Full-time, on-site role with occasional evening or weekend obligations for school events or meetings.
    • May involve walking throughout the campus and moderate lifting of supplies or equipment.
