and Duties The Education Administrator I leads the Teacher and Leader Policy Office within the Professional Learning Support Division. This role provides strategic leadership, direction, and supervision to staff in delivering technical assistance and administering programs that support the recruitment, retention, and professional learning of educators. This position requires travel to attend conferences, meetings, and trainings.
Key areas of oversight include: - Federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) equitable access to effective teachers - Title II, Part A equitable services for private non-public schools - 21st Century School Leadership Academy - Statewide professional learning programs - Technical assistance to local educational agencies
The Administrator collaborates closely with internal leadership and external partners, including the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, to implement policies and priorities set by the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, the California Department of Education (CDE), and the State Board of Education (SBE).
Core Responsibilities: Direct the development and implementation of policies, programs, and strategic initiatives; Provide consultation to CDE leadership and secure approval for major implementation strategies; Lead and manage staff assignments, timelines, and deliverables; Develop and propose new initiatives, including legislative recommendations; Oversee the creation of key work products, including Requests for Applications, contracts, legislative reports, and guidance materials; Ensure consistency in policy, content, and formatting across all deliverables; and Manage review and approval processes for publications and web-based resources.

This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for eligible applicants residing in California. Currently, the hybrid telework schedule includes working remotely and working a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.
