Job Description

About the position:

The CTE Instructional Coordinator at Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES plays a key role in strengthening teaching and learning across Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES and its component districts. A member of our Staff Development team, this individual partners with CTE instructors, many of whom are entering the classroom from industry, to build capacity in instructional practice and classroom management, while advancing high-quality curriculum, assessment, and instructional systems. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of teaching experience, instructional coaching expertise, and knowledge of CTE and Special Education programs.

In this role you will:

Assist and guide initiatives for curriculum, instruction, and assessment and provide instructional coaching support to W-FL BOCES CTE teachers

Lead curriculum mapping and design projects, including curriculum audits

Meet with leaders from W-FL BOCES and component districts to create a plan of work in conjunction with the Director of Staff Development

Stay current with state and regional initiatives and support communicating this work to stakeholders.

Attend regional and statewide professional development opportunities to strengthen work and expertise

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Staff Development and Director of CTE

Work Location:

This role will provide direct support at our CTE sites. It is expected that you will spend two days a week at Wayne Technical & Career Center in Williamson, two days a week at Finger Lakes Technical & Career Center in Flint, and one day a week at the Regional Support Center in Newark. Additionally, this position requires travel throughout W-FL BOCES component districts, including possible overnight travel to statewide and national conferences.

Additional Details:

Anticipated Start Date: August 2026

This is a 12-month position.

Job Qualifications

Required:

Active NYS Teacher Certification

Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, including experience in a secondary setting, CTE, workforce development, career training, or industry aligned to CTE pathways

Demonstrated experience designing and delivering professional learning

Experience in instructional coaching, mentoring, or teacher leadership

Strong understanding of NYS Learning Standards, curriculum development, and data-informed instruction

Experience supporting lesson design, student engagement, and differentiated instruction

Ability to analyze and use assessment data to guide instructional decisions

Strong collaboration, communication, and relationship-building skills

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Preferred:

Knowledge of Career and Technical Education (CTE) program standards and pathways

Experience working with Special Education, including co-teaching and inclusive practices

Experience leading school- or district-wide initiatives

Understanding of project-based, performance-based, and authentic learning models

Commitment to equity and culturally responsive teaching practices
