Reading Teacher

One-Year Leave Replacement

Anticipated Start Date: September 2026

Location: TBD

Compensation: Salary in accordance with Teachers' contract

Applicants must hold valid New York State Reading K-12 Certification

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement effective reading instruction aligned with state standards and best practices.

Assess students' reading abilities using formal and informal assessments to inform instruction.

Develop and deliver differentiated reading interventions for students at various skill levels.

Provide direct instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate literacy strategies across subjects.

Utilize data-driven decision-making to track student progress and adjust instruction as needed.

Engage families in literacy initiatives and provide resources to support reading at home.

Stay current with research-based literacy instruction and professional development.

Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students.

Wilson certification preferred.

Candidates may be subject to fingerprinting and a background check.
