The Dean of University College for Student Success provides visionary leadership and strategic direction for all programs and services housed within the University College, which is dedicated to supporting first-year students, transfer students, and those in transitional academic phases. The Dean is responsible for fostering student success, retention, and persistence through integrated academic and student support initiatives. This position ensures the development of high-impact practices, collaborative partnerships, and a seamless transition into the broader university experience. Responsibilities Provide executive leadership for the planning, implementation, and assessment of all University College programs and services, including academic advising, first-year experience, orientation, learning communities, tutoring, and student success initiatives. Lead efforts to improve retention, progression, and graduation (RPG) rates through data-informed practices and student-centered programming. Collaborate with academic departments, faculty, and student services to developa holistic approachto student support, particularly for underprepared, first-generation, or at-risk students. Supervise and support professional staff, advisors, and program coordinators within the University College. Advocate for and develop resources to enhance the student experience, including securing external funding and grants whenappropriate. Monitor academic performance and provide early intervention strategies for students in academic difficulty. Develop and manage budgets, ensuring resource alignment with strategic priorities. Foster a culture of equity, inclusion, innovation, and continuous improvement. Education An earneddoctoratefrom an accredited institution in higher education, student development, or a related academic field. Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in higher education, preferably in student success, academic affairs, or first-year programming. Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
