As the Regional Curriculum & Instruction Specialist , you will play a crucial role in ensuring effective implemention of curriculum, instruction, and assessment stregies for all schools within an assigned region; leading directly to meaningful student achievement. Serving as the primary educional compliance expert, you will uphold all relevant laws, regulions, and internal standards reled to educional services and serve as a positive, collaborive team member within the assigned area, providing ongoing and open communicion among all locions and departments.
Responsibilities Include:
- Serving as instructional leader for your assigned area; ensuring the implemention of Spectrums educional policies, procedures and standards which are aligned to California Ste Frameworks/Content Standards, CDE and educional law.
- Providing support, guidance, and supervision to teachers in educional assessment, curriculum, instruction, classroom systems and ste standards; and ensuring the use of evidence-based teaching stregies for all assigned campuses by providing training, coaching and feedback.
- Overseeing both the formal and informal academic assessment procedures for campuses in assigned area to monitor student progress and res of student achievement.
- Providing training and support to on-site educion teams in the use of student da for instructional decision-making purposes including the use of evidence based instructional practices/stregies to achieve high res of student growth and achievement.
- Overseeing implemention of on-site intervention instruction and curriculum with an emphasis on direct instruction in the areas of reading, writing, spelling, and mh for students performing below grade level.
- Researching and making recommendions for the use of evidence-based curricula in assigned area classrooms which meet the requirements set forth by the Department of Educion
- Providing oversight to area educion teams on lesson plans, transcripts, report cards, grading system, and progress reports for the academic classrooms.
- Guiding each campuss instructional staff in development of long term and short-term classroom goals and assisting in determinion of priorities and timelines for implemention.
- Conducting regular quality assurance checks for assigned campuses the individual student, staff, classroom, and site level and making recommendions for improvement.
- Assessing the training needs of all instructional staff within assigned area, and designing staff development plans which include training, follow-up monitoring, coaching and feedback.
- Providing training and support within the assigned area to educion coordinors, teachers, and reled services providers in the IEP process including but not limited to, IEP goal review, IEP meeting participion, and transition planning support.
- Supporting the implemention of classroom systems including tracking behavior improvement and reinforcement.
- Establishing and maintaining effective communicion with parents, care providers and district personnel in assigned area, always projecting a positive and professional company image and participing as a liaison when required.
- Attending and participing in all required on-site and regional meetings, and participing in staff development through conferences, trainings, and seminars to maintain and develop core competencies.
- Performing additional duties and special projects as assigned to support program success and continuous organizional improvement.
Qualificions Required:
- Master's degree or higher in educion, special educion, educional leadership or a closely reled field of study.
- Meet all ste and district requirements for approprie licensing and/or credentials.
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a valid CA ste special educion credential.
- Hold currently or have the ability to obtain a valid CA ste drivers license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain certificion in company approved crisis management training.
- Prior experience and highly knowledgeable in the development, assessment, and management of curriculum, content areas and instruction.
- Prior experience and/or knowledge in special educion services and compliance, particularly for students with severe learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and/or other reled disabilities.
- Prior experience and highly skilled in working with students with individualized educion plans (IEP's).
- Proven success in developing and implementing effective educion plans for students with diverse needs th help move them toward realistic goals.
- Knowledge and understanding of ste and/or nional educion content standards.
- Highly skilled in building relionships with students, parents, teachers and community and/or business partners.
- Demonstred ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining organizion and tention to detail.
- Advanced oral and written communicion, organizion, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.
- Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, dabase entry and basic office equipment.
