Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Job Summary: The Academic Advisor I provides guidance to University students on academic progress, courses, University resources, etc. Identifies courses to be completed in upcoming semesters. Explains University and College policies. May teach compass course as needed.

Additional Department Summary: Meets with prospective students and assist with recruiting.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher.

Skills and Knowledge: Ability to work with various groups of people. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Public speaking skills. Computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet and/or database management. Good planning, coordinating and organizing skills. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality/Sport Management or closely related field. Experience in a Hospitality or Sport Management environment and 1 year relevant experience. Experience with Courseleaf and DegreeWorks.
