Under supervision of Speech Language Pathologist, completes a variety of tasks designed to develop pre-language and language skills, oral-motor control for speech production, vocalization, and use of assistive technology devices for communication; works with students who have identified speech and language disorders as well as other disabilities; performs related duties as assigned.Qualifications:Approved course of academic study: associates degree in an SLPA program or a bachelors degree in a speech language pathology or communications disorders program, and successful completion of 100 hours of supervised field work or its clinical experience equivalent, and demonstration of competency in the skills required of an SLPA.Duties and Responsibilities: Perform tasks that are prescribed by supervising SLPConduct oneself ethically within the scope of practice and responsibilities for an SLP-AAssist SLP with speech/language screenings under supervision and without clinical interpretationProvide treatment to students with language and communication disabilities under the supervision of an SLPProvide tasks, procedures, and activities to treat individuals with communication and related disorders under the supervision of an SLPProgram and provide instruction in the use of augmentative and alternative communication devicesMaintain accurate service logs for all students on caseloadComplete progress notes for all students on caseload under the supervision of the SLP
