Occupational Therapist

Long Term Sub from September 2, 2026 - November 25, 2026. (End date is subject to change)

Long Term Substitutes receive a daily rate of $125.00 for the first 20 days of work. Starting on the 21st day, they are compensated at the daily rate for either a Bachelor's ($346.55) or Master's ($372.42) level, based on their qualifications, for the remainder of their assignment.

Woburn Public Schools is currently recruiting for a district-wide Occupational Therapist to work with students with various disabilities providing progressive OT services in our schools. The Occupational Therapist reports directly to the Director of Special Education and other members of the Administrative team, as appropriate.

Qualifications and Skill Set:

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registration: MA State License and Certification for Occupational Therapy.
  • Education/Training/Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Experience working with students with a variety of needs and disabilities, including those with multiple disabilities and medical needs.
  • Must possess excellent teamwork, communication and organization skills.
  • Experience in a school setting and/or working with students commensurate with grade level of schools

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Administer a variety of formal and informal assessments to determine service eligibility as well as to monitor progress
  • Attend and participate in IEP team meetings
  • Write IEP goals and objectives as well as complete routine progress notes
  • Provide direct service to students individually and/or in small groups
  • Provide consultation to parents, teachers and related staff personnel including in the areas of fine motor skill development, visual motor skill development, visual perception training, handwriting instruction, daily living skills, and sensory integration approaches
  • Support the team in the development and implementation of sensory diets as well as supporting student emotional regulation using sensory-based strategies
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities
  • Perform any other related duties as directed by Administration
