School Nurse

Mountain View Union Elementary School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Registered Nurse (RN) for the 2026-2027 school year and beyond. The position comes with full benefits and a $1000 stipend to offset costs associated with holding a Vermont RN and Vermont Agency of Education license. This RN position is a part of the Teachers' Collective Bargaining Unit and follows their Master Agreement. School Health Professionals provide first aid and health management during the school day, and work with students and families to identify and access community-based health resources. Anticipated placement for this position within the Mountain View District is Hardwick Elementary. The ideal candidates will have the following qualifications: Current, valid Vermont RN license CPR and First Aid certified Several years of clinical experience that includes pediatric and community/family-centered nursing, or interest in pediatrics and willingness to learn. Must work well as part of a nursing team to care for all OSSU students. Areas of student health care responsibilities include: Assessment First aid Health screening Medication administration Assist in communicable disease control Immunization assessment Attend student meetings as necessary Assessment and care of students with special needs Additional areas of responsibilities include: Compilation of statistical information Maintenance of health and medication records/logs Accident reporting Member of the Wellness and Safety Teams Preparation of required state reports Providing staff and parents with information on school health policies, and other pertinent health resource information Providing interpretation of health information to staff and parents Promoting a healthy school environment.Mountain View Union Elementary School District (MVU) is comprised of the towns of Hardwick, Woodbury, Greensboro and Stannard. Students residing in Greensboro or Stannard may choose to attend either of our K-6 campuses for elementary school: Hardwick Elementary or Woodbury Elementary. The MVU preschool program for all towns is at the Lakeview Early Education Center. Intradistrict school choice for K-6 is an option within Mountain View Union.-Hardwick Elementary School is located in Hardwick, VT, and serves students in grades K-6.-Lakeview Early Education Center is located in Greensboro, VT, and serves as the preschool/pre-kindergarten campus for all Mountain View Union families. -Woodbury Elementary School is located in Woodbury, VT, and serves students in grades K-6. All classrooms are multiage.

Job Requirements
Vermont school nurses are required to hold both a State RN license and a Vermont Agency of Education license as either a School Nurse or Associate School Nurse. A full background check is also required for employment and the Agency of Education. Also required is attendance at a multi-day New Staff Orientation starting August 17, 2026, and reliable transportation to travel between campus sites.
