POSITION: School Counselor
START DATE: 2026-2027 School Year
Certification: Must hold or be eligible for State of Delaware Elementary and Secondary School Counselor Certification
Qualifications: Clean Criminal Background Check and Child Protection Registry and TB Clearance required prior to employment.
Salary: Based on Teacher salary schedule with experience and degree. Salary Schedule can be found on the district website:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must hold or be eligible for State of Delaware Certification in Elementary & Secondary School Counseling
- Clean Criminal Background Check, TB Test, and Child Protection Registry Clearance must be completed prior to start of employment
Primary Duties:
- Applicants must demonstrate proficiency and experience in the following:
- May register students new to the school and orient them to school procedures and the school's varied opportunities for learning.
- Assists students and families with school-related needs.
- Maintains student records and protects their confidentiality as directed.
- Confers with parents whenever necessary.
- Provides counseling support.
- Conducts small group instruction for counseling modules.
- Provides community resources to students and their families.
- Utilizes the district software programs to support student's academic schedules and learning needs.
- Other related duties as may be required
