Step into an impactful school-based contract opportunity as an onsite Speech Language Pathologist, working within K-12 settings in the region near Grand Blanc, Lansing, Detroit, and surrounding areas. This assignment runs from August through June, providing fulfilling, hands-on service supporting students communication growth and academic achievement. SLP professionals (CCC preferred, CFY considered with appropriate supervision) passionate about making a difference for diverse, urban student populations will thrive in this rewarding environment.

Key Qualifications & Experience

  • Valid (or eligibility to obtain) state SLP licensure; pending status considered with proof of application
  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology with official university transcripts
  • SLP-CCC preferred, CFYs may be accepted with established supervision (especially in urban settings)
  • Experience or strong interest in working with K-12 populations
  • Comfortable providing onsite therapy and traveling between school buildings
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary staff
  • Familiarity with challenges facing urban students and relevant resources highly valued
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills

Primary Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized and group speech-language therapy sessions to students
  • Partner with educators and families, integrating communication strategies into classroom routines
  • Develop, implement, and track IEP goals and objectives; participate in IEP and MET meetings
  • Maintain accurate records per all compliance standards
  • Provide in-service training and professional development to school staff
  • Evaluate students and prepare comprehensive written assessment reports
  • Support students utilizing AAC systems for effective communication
  • Manage therapy equipment, resources, scheduling, and travel as needed
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned within the school setting
