School Social Worker

Newfound Area School District is seeking a motivated, adaptable, and dedicated individual to join their multidisciplinary team of educators for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is highly collaborative, working closely with school counselors, administrators, nurses, special education professionals, teachers, community agencies and families to support students needs at all levels. The district-wide school social worker will play a crucial role in our students social, emotional, and academic well-being.RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:McKinney-Vento LiaisonFacilitate suicide prevention training for staff, middle, and high school studentsCoordinate and plan with outside providers such as DCYFAssist parents/guardians in accessing and utilizing school and community resourcesAdministration and staff collaborationServe on student support teamsAssist schools with truancy/absence concernsHome visits and court hearings when necessaryHelp identify social/emotional needs of students and help support the implementation of a plan of supportMaintain accurate case recordsCompile annual reports

Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS: Masters of Social Work (MSW) and state licensure - either LICSW with the NH Board of Mental Health or NH DOE SSW certificationKnowledge of child development, mental health, substance use disorders, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), trauma-informed and crisis response. Experience in working with a variety of community partners to engage and enhance students' social and emotional needs.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams as well as independently.Demonstrate empathy, cultural awareness, and a strong commitment to ethics.Experience working with children and families; school setting preferred.Knowledge of area community agencies and resources.
