SCHOOL: Stonington High School
START DATE: August 15, 2026
REMUNERATION: Stonington Education Association Collective Bargaining Agreement
QUALIFICATIONS:
- CT Certification - 068 - School Counselor
- High school experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
- Preference to candidates who are licensed professional counselors or have counseling experience
- Provide excellent communication, both written and verbal
- Understand the developmental expectations for students of different ages
- Understand assessments and aptitude tests, and possess the ability to properly interpret results
- Maintain and utilize superior interpersonal skills with persons of all ages and across diverse backgrounds
- Provide counseling for students' social-emotional development, including coping skills, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation
- Possess a thorough understanding of the warning signs of abuse, neglect, or other crimes
- Possess the ability to work well with a variety of other personalities
- Proficiently use Google Suite, CT-SEDs, or related software
