GUIDANCE COUNSELOR

Abraham Lincoln School is seeking a compassionate, student-centered Guidance Counselor to join our supportive and collaborative team.

The successful candidate will provide individual and group counseling and deliver social-emotional support to students.

Key Responsibilities and Skills:

• Provide individual and group counseling to support students' social-emotional development
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to address student needs
• Support positive behavior interventions (PBIS) and school-wide social-emotional learning (SEL initiatives
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment
• Demonstrate strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Qualifications:

• Valid Maine School Counselor Certification
• Experience working with students in elementary, middle, or high school settings
• Strong understanding of social-emotional learning, adolescent development, and counseling best practices
• Ability to teach SEL classes
