Middle School Athletic Director

Qualifications:Approval of SBDM Council, Availability to attend and monitor athletic events, especially major sports, and knowledge of KHSAA rules/regulations.

Reports to:Superintendent, Principal, and KHSAA.

Job Goal: Responsible for contributing to the educational program as a whole and to the growth of each student. He or She shall manage the athletic program in a manner that ensures all students have the opportunity to participate in a successful athletic program that exemplifies high standards on and off the field or court.

Duties/Responsibilities: Oversee all athletic activities. Assist coaches in registering for rules clinics, medical symposiums, CPR Training, and other required trainings, where applicable. Preparation for athletic contests;a.Ticket Sales/Official's checks b. Law enforcement c.Emergency personnel d.Site-Preparation e. Parking. Ensure that the school and team is in compliance with all rules/regulations and policies of the KHSAA and Harlan Independent School District.Make sure all students have physicals and meet medical requirements.Fill out transfer and eligibility forms and maintain records for each athlete (MS). Maintain and fill out insurance forms on accident claims. Check grades of athletes for eligibility and work with coaches to provide support programs to assist students in maintaining their academic eligibility. Assist with random drug testing forms. Represent the school at athletic meetings such as conference and KHSAA meetings, where applicable.Maintain up to date calendar of sports related events on district website. Other related duties as assigned by the principal.
