JOB SUMMARY:
To support the Middle School Principal in the daily operations and activities within the school building, the vision for instructional leadership and student management. This individual works closely with the school staff and administration to support student achievement and overall school improvement.
EXPERIENCE: Prior experience as a successful teacher, dean or licensed administrator.
LICENSURE REQUIRED: Current Oregon administrative or teaching license with TSPC.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Support development and implementation of the building school improvement plan.
- Support the development and implementation of strategic plans and action plans for school i mprovement.
- Facilitate articulation with high school and elementary feeder schools.
- Possess a collaborative and solution-oriented leadership model.
- Help implement shared decision-making at the school.
- Model inclusive leadership with a missionary mindset.
- Identify, gather, and interpret data for the purpose of student intervention and support.
- Participate/lead in team building, group process and professional development.
- Support management of school behavior, intervention and discipline.
- Support the building safety team to ensure the school is in compliance.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Language Skills:
Ability to read English and comprehend complex technical language. Ability to write memos, reports, and correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-to-one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations with a high degree of accuracy.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions in English. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work collaboratively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisor(s), staff, students, parents, and community.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and may be continuously required to stand. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk while performing the duties of this job. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The employee may be required to sit at a desk and use a computer for long periods of time.

Works in a school environment. Able to use a telephone, operate a computer, and use other office equipment. Ability to drive to other program sites and meetings.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year in accordance with negotiated agreement between licensed teachers and the district.
CLASSIFICATION:
Full time, probationary position, at Mountain View Middle School or Chehalem Valley Middle School.
CALENDAR/SALARY/BENEFITS:
8 hours per day; 190 days starting August 24, 2026.
Salary range based on prior experience, $52,339 - $107,622 per the NEA Salary Schedule.
