General Summary
Performs duties related to learning solutions, such as planning, analysis, design, development and evaluation. Performs instructional design, including the ability to coach, educate and develop other educators and designers, design learning solutions for a variety of organizational clients and applications, and contribute towards continuous improvement within the department. Performs learning solution project management and/or consultant role on project teams, serving as a business partner promoting effective learning solutions which support the goals of the organization. Delivers train-the-trainer training as needed. Serves in a leadership capacity as needed to support Instructional Design leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Formally trains Instructional Designers in Instructional Design methodology.
- Leads system-wide initiatives; leads instructional designers as resources within project and coaches them as needed.
- Leads initiatives to determine standard evaluation methods and levels utilizing learning technologies in collaboration with Learning Services.
- Collaborates with OL&D teams to assist with analysis of training needs.
- Supports operations of the Instructional Design team.
- Conducts needs assessments, designs and develops appropriate curricula, learning plans and strategies for learning solutions.
- Apply business, project management and client relationship skills to managing instructional design. Serves as a learning solutions partner to the organization, working directly and independently with client stakeholders and leaders.
- Functions as a consultant to departments, service lines or entities for System-wide or entity-wide initiatives requiring learning solutions and/or provides human performance improvement consulting.
- Facilitates the planning, development, design, implementation and evaluation of System-wide education programs on topics including but not limited to Information Technology/Applications, Human Resource Development, Leadership Development and Clinical. May recommend non-training approaches.
- Coordinates with outside trainers, educators and/or vendors to present courses within the organization.
- Manages communications with project teams and other stakeholders.
- Contributes to the advancement of departments learning & development process, knowledge and skills related to established and/or emerging training best practices for practical and effective application of needs assessment/analysis, design, development, delivery (through ISD) and evaluation.
- Trains/develops Instructional Designers as needed.
- Serves as an agent and leader of change, supporting department and organizational priorities with an ability to easily adapt as an early adopter of new processes, training approaches, and incorporating learning technologies in learning solution design
- Acts as a learning solutions representative in leadership situations in absence of Coordinator or Manager.
- Serves as an instructional design and/or education project management resource to other educators as requested to support projects or improve existing training programs.
- Applies fundamental research skills to instructional design projects. Researches, selects, and develops course/learning materials.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- Masters Degree Required
Work Experience:
- 8 years Experience in instructor-led training or education-related position. Required and
- Experience designing training for a wide range of training topics- technical (clinical and IT) and soft skills (HR development/Leadership development). Required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong background in Adult Learning Theory (ADDIE), Levels of Evaluation and Instructional Systems Design (ISD).
- Strong project management and educational consulting background (with clients and educational peers).
- Familiarity with Human Performance Improvement to be able to triage/recommend non-training solutions.
- Able to lead complex, multifaceted learning solution design and development projects.
- Proficient in multiple platforms and desktop applications.
- Strong communication, project management and leadership skills.
