Work with high school students who are taking concurrent enrollment courses or are enrolled in career academies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required. Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population. Experience in academic advising, student transfer/articulation, and career exploration is preferred. Computer literacy skills are essential for program record-keeping and federal reporting.
Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. occasionally, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Salary Starting range $47,400 - 58,100 Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide personalized, intentional, and holistic advising support to students to ensure successful preparation for concurrent enrolled students.
- Provide resources to concurrent students, including program information, assistance with registration, career planning, and student engagement.
- Monitor student academic progress, including performance, course load, and readiness for advancement or transfer.
- Create academic plans for concurrent students, working within a Guided Pathways framework.
- Identify and reach out to students experiencing academic difficulty in a proactive and supportive manner.
- Participate in college events and initiatives related to concurrently enrolled students.
- Support high school concurrent students as they transition from high school to EICC.
- Demonstrate effective retention practices which includes, but is not limited to, outreach to students, communication with programs, and EICC resources and delivery of other workshops or programs.
- Work collaboratively with other student support departments to coordinate and provide quality academic advising resources and information to EICC Concurrent Students.
- Remain current with technology used to provide advising services, student success strategies, and best practices.
- Educate students on academic policies, financial aid implications, transfer requirements, and consequences of academic decisions.
- Supports the partnership between local school districts and EICC campuses. Maintains relationships with College Connection Instructors (CCI) and School Counselors.
- Participate in institutional committees and contribute to continuous improvement of advising and student support services.
- Reviews concurrent enrolled student transcripts for college readiness to ensure prerequisites for EICC courses have been met.
- Facilitates and processes College Connections Individual Registrations (CCIR), and Career Academy paperwork for high school students enrolling at an EICC campus location or online.
- Provides an orientation overview to high school concurrent students including topics on concurrent registration process, withdrawing from courses, Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and financial aid options after high school, FERPA, and transferring EICC coursework.
- Collaborates with Concurrent Enrollment Advisors and College Career Transition Counselors (CCTC) across the EICC district sharing best practices, policies and procedures, and general support.
- Other duties as assigned.
