General Function
Develop materials and instructional activities for a new course.
Duties and Responsibilities
Researches course availability within the local market and online channels; provides feasibility report.
Designs modules within the course, including justification for training methodology and selection of media.
Designs course materials including definition of training objectives and mastery tests.
Assists in the process of course material production and developmental testing.
Updates and revises as necessary to reflect changes in technologies and procedures.
May assist with design of promotional materials for the new course
Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
Level of education depends on the course but must have at least the same level of education as the requirement for an instructor of the course, prefer previous course development experience.
Additional Information
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
- Knowledge of instructional methodologies and media
- Knowledge of computer technology and application
- Excellent oral, written and communication skills
Working Conditions:
Typical office environment; may require travel

Direction Received: Reports to a Dean, Division Director, Program Coordinator for the program or a designated administrator
Direction Given: No responsibilities for directing or supervising staff
