Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated part-time School Psychologist to join our team for the 2025/2026 school year. The School Psychologist will provide comprehensive psychological services to support the academic, emotional, behavioral, and social development of students. This role involves collaborating with educators, parents, and other professionals to create a safe and supportive learning environment, and to promote the well-being of students.

Job Description

Essential Duties:

  • Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to determine students' eligibility for special education services and to inform instructional decisions.

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing a range of issues including mental health, social skills, and academic challenges.

  • Consult with teachers and staff to develop effective instructional strategies and behavioral intervention plans for students.

  • Collaborate with families to support student mental health and academic success, providing resources and strategies for effective parenting and intervention.

  • Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans for students with special needs.

  • Offer training and professional development for teachers and staff on mental health issues, crisis intervention, and effective classroom management techniques.

  • Engage in conflict resolution and mediation for students experiencing interpersonal difficulties.

  • Monitor and track the progress of students receiving special education services and interventions.

  • Stay current with best practices in school psychology and contribute to the ongoing development of school mental health programs.

  • Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all students

  • Maintaining effective communication with students, parents, and school staff

  • Regular and predictable attendance

Cognitive Demands:

  • Establishing routines and procedures

  • Maintaining a safe and orderly environment

  • Create and implement assessment and intervention plans

  • Participate in continuous professional development

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Cultural awareness and empathy towards students and families

  • Critical thinking

Physical Demands:

  • Occasionally lift/move objects weighing up to 25lbs

  • Stand and walk frequently

  • Occasionally sit on the floor or bend down/squat

  • Withstand all demands presented by outside weather conditions at any time of the year

  • Withstand a moderate noise level

  • Be able to perform first aid/CPR if necessary

  • Assist/lift students, as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in School Psychology or related field.

  • Valid state certification/license as a School Psychologist.

  • Knowledge of federal and state laws related to special education and mental health services.

  • Strong skills in assessment, intervention, and consultation.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.

  • Proficient in using various assessment tools and data to evaluate student needs and measure progress.
