Assistant Athletic Director--Worthington Kilbourne High School
One full-time Assistant Athletic Director to work 8hrs per day on a 261 day calendar. The Assistant Athletic Director will assist in providing supervision, leadership, coordination, and evaluation of the athletic program in grades 7-12.
Salary Range: $55,000 to $65,000 per year
Qualifications:
- Training and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Education or Athletic Administration preferred
- Demonstrated long range planning skills
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain positive public relations
- Knowledge in the development of a comprehensive athletic programs
- Knowledge of software systems, such as Google (Files, Docs, etc.), Microsoft
Job Duties:
- Assists the Athletic Director in developing guidelines for the recruitment and selection of coaches and makes recommendations to the principals and faculty managers.
- Assists the Athletic Director in the supervision and evaluation of coaches at the high school level; along with trainers and strength/conditioning personnel.
- Assist the Athletic Director in the scheduling and supervision of all high school athletic contests and maintains proper records.
- Assists in acting as host to officials and visiting schools.
- Assists the Athletic Director to ensure officials are scheduled and contracts are issued for all high school contests. Maintains an active file of officials under contract.
- Assists the Athletic Director in the supervision of part-time staff and volunteers who work the athletic programs.
- Assists the Athletic Director with the preparation and administration of detailed operating budgets for the high school athletic programs and managing athletic funds. Assists in assuring an equitable budget for all middle and high schools.
- Assists the Athletic Director with the preparation and maintenance of current student eligibility lists.
- Assists the Athletic Director with all athletic equipment needs.
- Assists the Athletic Director to ensure coaches conform with board, OHSAA, and league policies, regulations and state and federal laws.
- Assists the Athletic Director with preparation of facilities for home contests; including purchase and sale of tickets, game programs, and supervising contests at needed.
- Assist the Athletic Director with arranging transportation for away high school contests.
- Assists the Athletic Director to ensure all coaches have successfully completed required in-service programs.
- Assists the Athletic Director by working with appropriate staff to develop a long range plan for the utilization of fields and facilities.
- Assists the Athletic Director in providing leadership for and serves as a liaison to the high school umbrella booster organization and coordinates, with the coaches, and the support groups for specific athletic programs.
- Assists the Athletic Director in developing and maintaining a program to strengthen school spirit and sportsmanship.
- Assists the Athletic Director in promoting an extra-curricular program which ensures equal opportunities for all students regardless of sex, race, or religion.
- Assists the Athletic Director in providing the support and leadership to assure a holistic approach to athletics.
- Assists the Athletic Director to assure that the co-curricular program supports the goals and instructional strategies of the academic program.
- Assists the Athletic Director to ensure that supplemental units are assigned within the established limits and submits requests for units based on substantive evidence of need.
- Collaborates effectively with Athletic Directors from other high schools in the OHSAA.
- Assists the Athletic Director with the coordination of the in-service and the enforcement of the ATOD policy for athletics.
- Attends in-service and training programs
- Performs other duties as assigned
