Overview:
A local public school district in DeKalb, Illinois is hiring a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join its student services team for the upcoming school year. This is a school-based SLP job focused on delivering direct and consultative speech therapy services to students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
Job Duties:
Perform speech and language screenings, evaluations, and re-evaluations for students
Develop and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with state standards
Provide direct therapy sessions and monitor student progress toward communication goals
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and special education staff to support student outcomes
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure IDEA and IEP compliance
Serve as a speech expert on the multidisciplinary education team
Minimum Requirements:
Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Illinois SLP license (IDFPR) and Professional Educator License (PEL) with SLP endorsement
Previous school-based SLP experience or pediatric therapy background preferred
Strong understanding of speech/language development and IEP requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
