Full-Time School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) DeKalb, IL K12 Education Job Opportunity

Overview:
A local public school district in DeKalb, Illinois is hiring a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join its student services team for the upcoming school year. This is a school-based SLP job focused on delivering direct and consultative speech therapy services to students from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Job Duties:

• Perform speech and language screenings, evaluations, and re-evaluations for students

• Develop and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with state standards

• Provide direct therapy sessions and monitor student progress toward communication goals

• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and special education staff to support student outcomes

• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure IDEA and IEP compliance

• Serve as a speech expert on the multidisciplinary education team

Minimum Requirements:

• Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology

• Illinois SLP license (IDFPR) and Professional Educator License (PEL) with SLP endorsement

• Previous school-based SLP experience or pediatric therapy background preferred

• Strong understanding of speech/language development and IEP requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
