POSITION: Occupational Therapist

LOCATION OF ASSIGNMENT: East Hampton Public Schools

ANTICIPATED STARTING DATE: Aug 22, 2025

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Occupational Therapist to serve in a district-wide role. Responsibilities include:

• Conducting comprehensive evaluations across multiple domains, including but not limited to fine motor, visual motor, graphomotor, sensory processing, and self-help skills.
• Providing evidence-based occupational therapy services to students with IEPs and 504 plans from preschool through high school through various models (direct, consultative, push-in, pull-out) based on student needs and IEP goals.
• Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary educational teams to identify student needs and support academic and functional success.
• Attending and contributing to PPT meetings, parent meetings, and team collaboration sessions.
• Developing and delivering professional development training for school staff on topics related to occupational therapy and student support strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Connecticut
• Experience working with children and adolescents, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
• Knowledge of IEP (Individualized Education Program) development and implementation
• Familiarity with school-based therapy models and special education laws (e.g., IDEA, Section 504)
• Ability to assess and interpret evaluations and write functional reports
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, teachers, and staff
• Ability to manage a caseload and maintain accurate documentation
• Preferred background includes strong knowledge of sensory processing and experience with assistive technology, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and functional living skills programming.
