Candidates with diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, religious, class, and/or gender backgrounds and experiences are strongly encouraged to apply.Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Evaluating students needs for OT services by identifying the underlying perceptual, sensory, and/or motor delay, or other impairment that limits or prevents a student from accessing the educational curriculum.Providing focused Occupational Therapy interventions to students in a 1:1 setting and/or small groups.Working within a RTI model to provide support to the team and students through regular education.Providing consultation within a multidisciplinary team model which includes teachers, paraeducators, parents, and other professionals.Creating and suggesting adaptations for students to access the curriculum and/or maximize their performance.Providing in-service training to the team so as to ensure consistency in the carryover of OT strategies.Recording student data towards IEP objectives, maintaining clinical notes, documenting quarterly progress reports, writing clear, concise and thorough evaluation reports, developing measurable OT goals and objectives, and writing student IEPs.Presenting at team meetings; clearly articulating evaluation findings and student progress to parent and team.Organizing occupational therapy materials and testing supplies, and maintaining a neat, student-friendly work environment.Qualifications include:Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational TherapyCurrent Massachusetts state license and NBCOT registrationA clear understanding of the school-based OT model, and familiarity with standardized evaluation toolsExhibits the core values of Shrewsbury Public SchoolsWorks flexibly in a changing school environment Process:Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, official or unofficial copies of undergraduate/graduate transcripts, license # or unofficial copy of OT state license and three current professional letters of reference, including one from a direct supervisor, professor, or evaluator via www.schoolspring.com The Shrewsbury Public Schools is an affirmative action employer, ensuring that its programs and facilities are accessible to the public.
