Demonstrates an ability to apply trauma-informed principles and integrates them into daily practice. Communicates effectively and promotes collaborative problem solving by demonstrating care and respect in considering the diverse experiences and perspectives of others. Currently offering $3,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants, full time LOCATION: Hammitt School on Willow, 108 E Willow St, and/or Hammitt School on Oglesby, 612 Oglesby Ave, Normal, IL HOURS: Full time 37.5 hrs+/week OR part time, following the Hammitt School schedule, generally 8a - 3:30p, Mon - Fri PAY: $3,000 sign on, $53,400 - $62,000/year salary ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assessment: Conducts audiological evaluations. Evaluates the speech and language skills of Hammitt School students and develops individualized education program goals and objectives as needed. Speech Therapy: Plans and provides speech and language therapy services that are consistent with ISBE regulations, and are within the scope of practice of a speech-language pathologist. Utilizes a variety of service delivery and intervention techniques to meet individual student needs in the areas of articulation, language, fluency, voice and/or hearing. Progress Testing: Evaluates applicable students' progress through formal and informal testing measures. Behavior Management: Manages behavior of children in therapy sessions in accordance with individualized behavioral procedures. Consultation: Consults and coordinates with appropriate school staff, parents, and other professionals regarding assessment and therapy of the children. Treatment Team: Participates in the treatment team process by attending appropriate meetings and conferences including interdisciplinary staff meetings updating the student's progress, intake/pre-placement staffing's, speech therapy meetings, annual and final reviews. IND1 Requirements Master's degree in Speech Pathology required. Certification as a Speech and Language Therapist in the State of Illinois required. Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association or willingness to complete requirements of clinical fellowship year. Demonstrated competence as a Speech and Language Therapist. Knowledge of and skill in utilizing behavioral approaches with children. Ability to work cooperatively in an interdisciplinary team structure. Must be in good physical and emotional health including the physical ability to maintain the safety and well-being of children for whom there is responsibility. Must pass necessary background checks. Salary Description $53,400 - $62,000/year (prorated for part time)
