Physical Therapist - School Setting in New Orleans, LA

This position offers an opportunity for a part-time physical therapist to provide specialized care within K-12 school settings in New Orleans, LA. Serving approximately 5 to 6 students across four nearby schools, the role focuses on delivering direct therapy sessions and supporting students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) during an Extended School Year (ESY) contract.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in Louisiana
• Experience working in school-based and healthcare settings preferred
• Ability to conduct evaluations, provide individualized therapy, and collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams
• Strong organizational skills for completing weekly service logs and maintaining documentation
• Effective communication skills for coordination with on-site coordinators and nurses

Location:

• New Orleans, LA
• Four schools within a 5-mile radius, including elementary, middle, and high school students

Responsibilities:

• Conduct individual 30 to 45-minute physical therapy sessions for students
• Collaborate with two on-site coordinators and four nurses across multiple school sites to ensure effective care delivery
• Participate in indirect service time such as documentation and possibly team meetings, with compensation provided for all hours worked within the contracted timeframe
• Replace an existing virtual PT position to provide in-person therapy services

Schedule and Contract Details:

• Part-time, approximately 4 to 5 hours per week
• Contract covers the Extended School Year (ESY) period
• Itinerant travel between schools required within a close geographic area

This role includes flexibility in interview format, offered via Zoom or in-person with a quick decision timeline within 24-48 hours following interviews. Candidates must hold a valid Louisiana PT license and may be subject to fingerprinting requirements before starting.
