A full-time, contract position is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist to serve middle school students in a supportive educational environment. The role begins ASAP for one position and on August 18, 2025, for the second, running through May 29, 2026. The worksite is a junior high school located in Cary, IL.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing speech and language therapy to students in grades 6 through 8
- Supporting approximately 10 students with moderate to severe needs in a Specialized Autism & Developmental Program (Position #1)
- Working with AAC devices and other assistive communication technologies preferred for Position #1
- Serving approximately 35 students with mild to moderate speech and language needs (Position #2)
- Collaborating with educators and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitoring progress and adjusting interventions accordingly
Desired qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology certification/licensure appropriate for school settings
- Experience working with school-age children, especially middle school students
- Familiarity with AAC devices and strategies, especially for specialized autism programs
- Ability to manage caseloads effectively and work collaboratively within an educational team
