Job Description
This position is designed for a bilingual Spanish-English Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) professional to support elementary-aged students in an educational setting. This full-time contract role offers an opportunity to work with two schools within a vibrant community, promoting student development and participation in classroom activities.
Location: Algonquin, IL
Duration: August 4, 2025, through May 21, 2026
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, with orientation on August 4 and 5 and the first student day on August 7
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate student participation in classroom activities by addressing fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, and self-care skills
- Modify tasks or environments based on individual student needs
- Conduct diagnostic and evaluation testing as appropriate
- Prepare clear, comprehensive reports from assessments and observations
- Develop and maintain Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives and accommodations
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and peers to support student progress
Qualifications:
- Hold or be eligible for an Illinois state license in Speech-Language Pathology
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is required
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
- Demonstrated flexibility and problem-solving abilities
