Job Title: Remote School-based Physical Therapist (Nevada)
Location: Remote (State of Nevada)
The Nevada school district is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Remote School Physical Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will support students across multiple school sitesranging from preschool through high schoolby delivering high-quality physical therapy services remotely. Youll work closely with educators, families, and related service providers to help students achieve meaningful functional gains in their educational environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssessment & Program Development
Conduct virtual physical therapy assessments for students with disabilities, identifying strengths, challenges, and goals.
Design and update individualized physical therapy programs in alignment with students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans under Nevada state and federal regulations.
Service Delivery
Provide telehealth sessions (both one-on-one and group formats) to students, leveraging tools such as video conferencing, annotated PDFs, interactive whiteboards, and gamified therapy activities.
Deliver consultative support for teachers, paraprofessionals, and parents, offering strategies for movement, posture, accessibility, and adaptive PE modifications.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
Regularly track and document student progress toward physical goals.
Prepare and present updates for IEP/504 meetings, including eligibility reviews, progress reports, and annual goals.
Maintain accurate and confidential electronic documentation in accordance with district policies.
Collaborative Engagement
Join virtual IEP/504 and team meetings.
Coordinate with classroom teachers, special educators, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other support staff to ensure an integrated approach.
Build strong relationships with parents/guardians to align homeschool physical activity strategies.
Compliance & Professional Practice
Adhere to Nevadas licensure rules for physical therapists and telehealth service provision in educational settings.
Uphold HIPAA, FERPA, and state regulations related to teletherapy in schools.
Required QualificationsCurrent Physical Therapist license in the state of Nevada (or ability to obtain one).
Masters or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
Eligibility to provide telehealth PCP services in school settings (must meet Nevada telehealth standards).
Experience in pediatric physical therapy, especially in educational or school-based environments.
Strong competency in telehealth platforms (Zoom, Teams, or educational software), and ability to create digital resources like exercise videos and visual guides.
Previous experience delivering remote or telehealth therapy.
Additional certifications (e.g., Sensory Integration, Neurodevelopmental Treatment - NDT, Aquatic PT).
Skills in technological adaptation of therapy materials.
Effective written and verbal communication, with a strong capacity to build rapport through virtual formats.
Flexible, remote schedule aligned to school calendar (approx. 910 months/year)
